- Qualifying Comments are those that meet each one of the criteria in (a) – (f):
a. The Comment appeared on the OptionMonkey YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@optionmonkey.
b. The Comment appeared on a Video, not a Short. I.e., @optionmonkey/videos, not, @optionmonkey/shorts.
c. The Comment complies with YouTube’s Community Guidelines (http://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines)
d. The Comment appears on any Public video published between Jun 28, 2024 and Nov 14, 2024 (the timeframe in which Creator’s current scratch off video content was posted.)
e. The Comment was published by a User on or before 3:30pm on Friday, Nov 15, 2024.
f. The Comment doesn’t abuse, attack, or demean Content Creator personally, but may criticize/demean Content Creator’s method or style of Scratching Tickets.
- Every Qualifying Comment is a Valid Entry.
- The Author of each Qualifying Comment is an “Entrant,” if Eligible.
Eligibility
- Entrants must be of legal age; 18-years-old or older.
- Entrants confirm they agree and understand that YouTube is not a sponsor of this contest, nor is YouTube involved in or liable/responsible in any way for the content, decisions, existence, operation or outcome of this Giveaway. Entrants release YouTube from any liability of any kind related to the contest.
- Entrants must agree to, and do nothing that violates, YouTube’s Community Guidelines.
- Entrants confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to these Official Rules, and that they very clearly understand that Top Prize-winning tickets won’t be awarded, nor will single Tickets valued at over $499.00.
- Entrants agree that the Ticket they may win will be scratched during this Giveaway by its Host, and that they have no choice in the exact Ticket they may win. Entrants also understand they may “win” and yet receive little or nothing of actual value, as Scratch Off Tickets themselves are a game of chance and many win nothing.
Prizes
The Prizes in this Giveaway are Scratch Off Tickets of a face value to be determined by chance and luck as defined in “Sequence of Giveaway.” Because Scratch Off Tickets are part of a Legal Lottery conducted by the State of Texas, Entrants may “win” and yet receive nothing of monetary value. That is, all Tickets awarded as Prizes may reveal no actual prizes when scratched.
Entrants understand that any Top Prize-winning Ticket, and any single Ticket winning more than $499.00 is automatically excluded from becoming part of any Prize awarded to Winners.
Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of the Giveaway. The OptionMonkey YouTube channel will make reasonable effort to contact and inform Winners, but reaching Winners isn’t guaranteed nor is it the responsibility of OptionMonkey.
Liability
Giveaway is conducted in good faith and at no cost or threat of potential liability to anyone but Content Creator. Entrants understand and agree that Option Monkey bears no legal obligations or liability of any kind to any person involved. All Parts of the giveaway are a “gamble” or “game of odds, chance, or luck,” thus chance, luck, or fate/faith alone determines which if any Qualified Comments will earn Entrants a prize or a chance at a prize. OptionMonkey intends to award winners their prizes using well-known payment platforms owned and operated by 3rd parties, such as PayPal or Venmo [neither of which are aware of, involved in, or sponsors of this giveaway]; OptionMonkey’s fulfillment of Prizes will thus be considered complete when funds have been Sent, whether they are received or not, simply because the 3rd party payment platforms are entirely out of its control.
Sequence of Giveaway — How Winning Entrants are Discovered
This Giveaway is itself a sequence of games of luck, a series of chances:
- Qualifying Comments are Concealed • Each Qualifying Comment is printed and placed in an envelope to conceal its Author (Entrant) and Content; 1 printed comment per envelope. All envelopes are then placed in a single Box.
- Die Roll Determines Number of “Winning Comments” • The 1st Official Roll of a single 6-sided die determines the total number of Qualifying Comments that will be drawn from the Box.
- Card Draw Determines % of Winnings Awarded • The first card drawn from a shuffled deck of cards between 5 and 9 determines the percentage of Total Winnings to be evenly divided among the authors of Winning Comments. If an Ace of Spades is drawn, the percent is 100, and 100 percent of total winnings, less any Top Prizes and single Tickets valued at over $499.00, will be awarded to Winners. A 6 drawn means 60%, a 7 means 70% and so on through 9 for 90% of Total Winnings (less any Top Prize-winning tickets and single Tickets valued at over $499.00).
- Tickets are Scratched to Reveal Prize Amounts • A Full Book of Scratch Off Tickets chosen and bought by OptionMonkey is scratched to reveal whatever winning Tickets exist within it. As noted earlier, any Top Prize-winning ticket and any single Ticket winning $499.00 or more is automatically excluded from awarded winnings.
- Winning Comments are Picked • Prior steps determined the Number of Potential Winners, and the Percent of Total Ticket Winnings to be divided among Winners. This step alone determines who Winners are: A number of envelopes, corresponding to the number on the die roll seen earlier, are drawn from the Box of concealed comments. If the die displayed more than “1,” and more than one of a single User’s comments is chosen, each, both, or all Qualifying Comments so picked count(s) as a Winner.
Second Chance Giveaway
When the Main Giveaway is complete, a Second Chance Giveaway will be held. In this, random Qualifying Comments are chosen from what remains in the Box, and are paired with random $5.00 Texas Lottery Scratch Off Tickets. Here, Entrants (comment authors) will likewise have no say in what specific ticket they get, but if the selected Ticket wins a Prize, the author of the Qualifying Comment is awarded its entire value of up to $50.00, or 50% of its value if the Prize or sum of Prizes is between $50.00 – $100.00. $100.00 is the largest total prize amount that Winning Comment authors (Entrants) will receive in Second Chance. Top Prize-winning tickets are excluded, as is any single ticket winning more than $499.00.
Privacy Policy: Use of Your Data
OptionMonkey received no special or personally-identifying data from Comment authors. Printed Comments include only information that Users shared publicly on YouTube.com. Most Entrants don’t need to share any data with OptionMonkey and will not be asked to. Winners will be asked for a payment method (PayPal or Venmo) in order to receive their prize. We’ll delete this information after using it to send Winnings, though history on these 3rd Party payment platforms/apps may use Winner’s data in accordance with their Privacy Policies. In short, we respect your privacy, only have data that was already shared publicly online (on YouTube.com), and will only ask for as little data as is needed to send Winners their prizes.
